5B #2 lesson 5

science - why does hair turn gray  http://wonderopolis.org/wonder/the-hair-raising-truth-about-going-gray-2/

We are studying genetics in Science and I thought I would look up some sites in reference to that but the only site I could find was this one about hair turning gray.  As of now, I do not think this is a part of the curriculum but it did have an interesting part to it where kids can take time lapse photos of them - one a day for a year and it will automatically replay it - very cool

Mystery Cube   http://thinkfinity.org/search?txtKeyWord=mystery+cube

Ok, this is a cool project.  the kids read a mystery book, or any genre - and they go to this site and fill in all the questions.  The setting, the characters, problem, solution... and then print and it comes up as a cube that you (they) can cut out and make into a foldable box, which my kids love to do.

Blog #5

I think I am suppose to be done with this now. This is my exit blog.  I think this was a good idea, this blog thing but at this point, unless I have the time and opportunity to use it daily, I feel that I will and have "lost" it.  I would rather have a class on this where I can ask questions and get immediate responses.  I wish my self luck on this learning endeavor.

#3 Lifelong Learners Video

I feel the most difficult issue for me would be the technology use.  I know it will make my learning and teaching so much more effective and easy but it takes so long to get started that I get frustrated and I do not have enough time in the day to teach myself the technology and do regular lessons for my students.  Iknow it is just a matter of time, or should I say the lack of it.

the easiest - accepting responsibility for own learning. and PLAY!  I enjoy learning new things and love taking classes to help me and my students learn.  I also think it is important that learning is fun and relaxed and teachers and students laugh and smile daily!

blog #3

What makes a good blog.  Short, to the point.  easy to read and understand.  Written on a specific issue and not blah blah blah
if used correctly blogs could help school by connecting teaches and students on issues that affect them,
I feel blogs are easy for self-publishing, I just don't know a lot about them yet since I am still just learning.
oh, I am suppose to explain what I hope to learn...ummm, I hope to get proficient enough with techno-teaching that I know more than the students.  I feel my job would be easier, and the students would be more engaged in learning but it takes a lot of time to learn all this stuff..then to have the computers crash or something, not good.
23 things - new blog account.  I'm here!  Not sure what I am doing here or how I actually got here - but I am here!
